So how’s she running then James – part 3

In light of my findings in the following article, which basically shows that there no real point in running your CPU at much more than 4.3GHz, I have reset my overclocks on my rig.  I am now running at the ‘Asus Optimal’ setting found in the BIOS,  this sets the Multiplier to 42 and the Base Clock to 103 giving a CPU clock of 4.326GHz.  For now that will be the default setup of this rig and my rig page has been updated to reflect this.  This setup has also now set my RAM at its optimal timings also, now running at 6-8-6-24 @1600MHz.

 

CPU @ 4.8GHz CPU @ 4.3GHz
CPU overclocked to 4.841GHz CPU overclocked to 4.326GHz

 

As you can see from the 2 screen shots there is a large reduction in both the vCore voltage and the temps, doesn’t seem any point in over stressing the CPU. So happy with this for now…
